“Crazy Quilt: Made in Blanchester, Ohio by The Women’s Relief Corp of the Grand Army of the Republic 1893-1894.”

This book is a significant, comprehensive companion to an authentic, Crazy Quilt dated 1893-1894. It carries the names of Civil War veterans of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) who lived with their families in or near Blanchester, Ohio during and/or after the war. To our knowledge, this quilt with its companion book, is the only one of its kind in existence today that has as its subject Civil War veterans from this area of Ohio. This book should be of special interest to descendants of Civil War veterans who fought in the GAR from Clermont, Clinton and Warren Counties, and their friends and neighbors, as well as local veterans groups, school children, and their teachers. Also, the book has significance to genealogists, historians, and members of quilt guilds from across the nation and from around the world, who have family ties to Southern Ohio.
